You don’t need an external power source as the Fujitsu Scansnap S1300i can be powered directly from the USB port but there’s also an external power unit to plug into the mains too.

Other useful features include intelligent automatic image processing with auto color detection, paper size detection, de-skew and orientation and more.

You can choose to save scans on your hard drive and store them in the Cloud including in Dropbox, Google Drive and note taking apps such as Evernote.

There are of course downsides to portable document scanners and one of them is that the Fujitsu Scansnap S1300i doesn’t handle different page sizes or documents very well.
